Ramana's Garden

Ramana’s Garden offers the vision that every child, regardless of caste or creed, has the right to a home, proper nutrition, quality education and primary health care. Many children do not have these basic necessities. Ramana’s Garden offers a sanctuary for these children and support for the ladies of the community.

Friends of Ramana’s Garden, Inc. (“Friends”) is a United States IRS-approved 501(c)(3) U.S. nonprofit charity, which supports Ramana’s Garden Children’s Home in India.

Donations through Friends are tax-deductible consistent with U.S. tax laws. Friends operates on an all-volunteer basis, and since inception in 2005 has has allocated 97.5% of receipts to support the kids at Ramana’s Garden. The Board of Directors for Friends consists of John Hurley, President; Tyagan Scott Attaway, Vice President and General Counsel; Prabhavati Dwabha, Vice President; Kathy Carroll, Director; and Jay Magenheim, Director.

Ramana’s Garden Children’s Home currently provides free primary and junior level education to more than 200 students from local BPL (“Below Poverty Line”) families, including for the nearly 70 kids who live onsite at Ramana’s. Students typically come from homes with deceased, absent, or illiterate parents who are unable to provide a quality education for their children.  Some kids walk for over an hour each way just to attend school. Without Ramana’s, many of our students likely would be begging in the streets or engaging in child labor.

Ankitara Foundation has donated to Ramana’s Garden. Visit their website, www.ramana’s.org to see some cheerful faces.
