Penn Nalam in Tamil language means women’s health. The organisation is dedicated to providing affordable cancer treatment to women in need. They aim to provide screening, diagnostic tests, chemotherapy, surgery, and the necessary counselling to help women through the process of cancer treatment and recovery.

Mrs. Radhika Santhanakrishnan is the Managing Trustee. She herself is a cancer survivor. 8 years have passed since Radhika first encountered breast cancer. While in hospital dealing with the experience of her own breast cancer treatment, she became acutely aware of the lack of awareness and disparities in cancer care. At this crucial moment in life, she started Penn Nalam, a unit of Sri Dhanvantri trust, with the support of her family members.

Two main objectives became clear to her:

• To create awareness about breast cancer and bring world class treatment facility to women in India.

• To provide an atmosphere that induces path breaking discovery to prevent, detect and cure breast cancer.

 

Penn Nalam is now embarking on an exciting new phase – To broaden their horizon with “CHENNAI BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION”, a one stop centre of excellence leading to a surge in prevention, early detection, treatment and after care for patients with breast cancer.

 

Ankitara Foundation had donated in the year 2021 and also in the year 2022, especially for buying cancer screening equipment.
