The Forest Way is a Charitable Trust based in Thiruvannamalai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, South India.  A group of people passionate about nature conservation, organic farming and educating the rural poor children had started the trust under the leadership of Mr. Arun Venkatraman, Managing Trustee. Forest Way has been primarily focusing on education and environment, but the pandemic made the NGO realize what the need of the hour was.  They are also now exploring the idea on providing a more long term help and stability in terms of health and micro finance.

 

Local communities were suffering to make ends meet without employment, tourism, etc. Through Ankitara Foundation’s donation, the NGO was able to feed the local communities during the pandemic.

Through the Pandemic they have reached out to more than 4500 families providing them food relief in the form of rice, dhal, oil, medical help and in many instances repeatedly till they reached a level of independence. They have also provided financial and other help with treatment of ailments.
